Background on our Events
Traditional Seasonal Festivals: To live and work in harmony with yourself and the forces of nature is an important goal on every Demeter farm.
Observing, experiencing, feeling and utilising the forces of nature heedfully, this is how harmony is created. It nurtures that fantastic feeling of doing the right thing at the right time in the right place.
This is why we also celebrate traditional seasonal festivals. We tune in on the rhythm of the seasons and learn to float, more and more, on waves of energy. In so doing, we use up less energy for combating illnesses, because the causes of these illnesses are dissolved away!
The sweat lodge supports us during this process. It is an ancient ceremony passed onto us by primitive people who lived many thousands of years ago, during which the transfer from one phase of life into the next is celebrated.
People sit in a circle, directly on the ground, in hut made of braided willow rods. The hut is covered with blankets. Outside a fire is burning. In the hut, water is poured over red-hot stones. The scent of fine herbs, warm soothing steam, the serene presence of earth and fire create an atmosphere, in which particularly healing experiences become possible.
You let go of old things in order to make room for new ones. Something dies and is reborn. Singing and dancing takes place – people of different religious confessions come together. Beliefs of every kind are welcome, nobody is excluded.
For those who are interested in experiencing the change of the seasons in this way, who want to purify and recharge body, mind and soul and who want take time out from everyday working life in exquisite natural surroundings, are wholeheartedly welcome to join us in our sweat huts.
